SCULPTURE

Holop historically emerges from violence — from coercion, the deprivation of will, and the right of one person to control the life of another. At the beginning it is always an act of force. An event. A rupture.

But when violence lasts for centuries, it ceases to be an event. It becomes a structure. Gradually it turns into cultural memory — embedded in language, behaviour, posture, and tone.

In this process, submission becomes internalised. Even when external forms of domination weaken or disappear, the learned posture can remain.

In this sense, holopdom is not only a historical condition but a cultural one.

The project Holop explores the transition from visible violence to an internalised form of obedience.

The figures are simplified and stripped of individuality. They lean slightly forward. This inclination is not dramatic and not explained by action. It appears natural, stable, almost calm.

Pressure is not shown directly — it has already entered the material. Surfaces record duration, accumulation, and the trace of time.

The work is not about a moment of coercion.

It is about how violence, when prolonged, turns into habit and begins to be perceived as a normal condition of culture.
